Avast, ye bilge rat! Okay, I got carried away. We've had a bit of a pirate invasion in our home recently. Noah has been alternating between dinosaurs and pirates for awhile, but we're fully back on the pirate kick.
Laura went to the Days of '47 Float Preview Party this week and not only was there a pirate float, but Noah got pirate face paint and a balloon sword. He was so sad when it came off in the bath.
Luckily for our little Mikey Bones (I think we mentioned this is his pirate name), his muh-der (as he likes to call her) saw a nice little pirate sword while she was at the Shakespearean festival with her mom and sister. Of course, a pirate needs a hat. So, although we couldn't do anything about the moustache from the face painter, we sailed on over to Wal-Mart to round up a "pirate hat." He slept with sword and hat last night!
This morning, while I was working on the computer, Noah was watching the first Pirates of the Carribean movie. He only gets to watch the first 20 minutes or so (until the Black Pearl shows up and cannonballs start flying). He came over to me and started jabbering about something about a pirate friend. It took me a few minutes to figure out that he was telling me that his pirate friend was Jack Sparrow! I haven't yet figured out how to spell Noah's pronunciation of Jack Sparrow, but trust me, it's adorable.
So if you're around us in the next little while and Laura calls you matey or starts talking about scurvy, it's just a two-year-old rubbing off. Oh, and be prepared for Noah to break into his rendition of "A Pirate's Life for Me", which he loves to sing.
