Happy 2nd Birthday Noah!!! December 30, 2007

We didn't spend the day like I thought we were going to, but you still ended up having a fun birthday.  Last night was rough with you waking up every hour or so needing to be comforted, held, given medicine, and tucked in because you were feeling miserable and running a fever all night long.  Not the way I would plan to have you feel on your birthday, but we made the best of it.  Today you have felt a lot better.
We just had a low-key family day.  We stayed home from church, snuggled, and watched all of your favorite movies.  I made you a cake and Daddy decorated it.  I was feeling guilty about buying you a cake anyway because my mom always spent hours making mine and I thought other kids with store bought cakes were gipped.  Your cake wasn't anything fancy, but you loved it.  AND we sang you "Happy Birthday" and you knew to blow out the candle all on your own.  When did you turn into my big boy?  It's happened so fast...I've loved every day.
We gave you a huge Winnie the Pooh and a new Pooh movie which you were in seventh heaven about.  A few days ago we were in the basement together doing laundry and you discovered your birthday presents hiding under a big blanket.  I tried to trick you into thinking you had imagined it and tried to get you to forget about it, but I guess two-year-olds have better memories than I thought.  Anyway, you were so happy to get your Pooh today.
I debated about whether or not to include this picture, but it says a little about our day and I love your cute crying face, even though it means your sad/mad/frustrated about something.  I guess because I love you no matter what.  So here it is:
You've been a little bit extra sensitive today about pretty much everything because you are sick.  Daddy was putting on your birthday hat for our little "party" and the rubber band part snapped you a little.  You weren't too happy about it!  But aren't you cute?  I love you, my little Nobo.
