Noah's Sweetness... April 04, 2008

Noah's been saying really cute things that I don't want to forget, so I thought I'd write them down this morning.
Ever since he stayed with G&G Parker he has been enunicating his words a lot more.  Just the day before yesterday he started saying, "Yes" instead of "yeah".  It's my new favorite word of his and I will ask him questions just to hear the answer.  When he says it it sounds like, "yesh".  So cute.
He amazes me with his memory and the things he notices.  We bought him some shorts the other day at Mervyns.  The tag for the shorts has a dog on it and he apparently noticed this at the store because when we got home he was calling them his "doggy shorts".
I still haven't figured out what to give him for breakfast today, but when I was fixing him his morning chocolate milk he was asking me for a hamburger!  That's funny to me because he's never said "hamburger" on his own before let alone to ask for one for breakfast.
Between 11pm and 1am he woke up crying I can't even remember how many times last night.  Thanks heavens after that he/we slept through the rest of the night.  I don't really know why he was having trouble sleeping.  Maybe he was having nightmares again.  Maybe he was too hot.  Maybe he was just uncomfortable.  One time when I went in to comfort him it was such a sweet experience that it made up for all the tiredness.  (So this morning when I'm experiencing some of that tiredness, I better think about it!)  I went in and he was sitting up so I scooped him up in my arms and held him tight.  I asked him what was wrong and he told me he was scared.  (I don't know if he really was; that seems to be a favorite thing to say lately.)  I rocked him in my arms anyway and told him that he was safe in our house, safe in his room, safe in his bed, that mommy was there and I would keep him safe.  He snuggled right in to me and said, "Safe, mommy" and kissed my shoulder.  Isn't that so sweet.  That's what makes it all worth it.
Here's a picture of him wearing his bike helmet from this morning.
